wake up and smell the bacon

This week in DarkTriforceFilms, it's finally time - BACON is here.  I know we'd been talking this up for the last half of summer in these reports, so it's nice to finally get to say "It's done! Go watch it!" So you know, go watch it!
As of right now, Episode 1 was posted last night, coinciding with our official premiere for the cast and crew where we watched the entire series edited together as one feature length experience (with many thanks to Mr. Woody Hamilton for all the work he put into this!) I'm super excited for the rest of the series to come out because I think each episode gets better and better. It's nice to be on the other side of everything, with all the work I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel a bit burnt out as Bacon took over all of our work going into the start of fall, and when you feel like that it's easy to just pick over every little thing that's wrong with what you're working on. But after getting to be with everyone and see everything stitched together, I'm over the moon proud and happy with what we made.
The editing process for Bacon was split up between myself, Cameron, and Woody and unlike other projects that we had edited between people like Buddy Cops 3, we had done this basically remote from each other with Woody's move to Florida. So other than some rough cuts to take notes on, the premiere was the first time we actually got to see the entirety of Bacon which was kind of a cool experience for me, to premiere this big project but also be going in just as blind as the other people in the crew who hadn't seen any of the footage yet. And of course I want to give such a huge thanks and say amazing job to both Woody and Cameron for their work on the series, Woody and I both had some crunch time getting things ready for the premiere and Cameron was great with getting anything done we asked him too whenever he had the chance. Bacon marks the first project on the DarkTriforceFilms channel Cameron has editing credits for which is exciting and I think a very fitting project for him to make his debut on.

Bacon also sees the premiere of Heath Canfield and Hunter Frederick in a DarkTriforceFilms project, I believe I talked about them a bit in the last edition of The Report, so I'll try not to be too repetitive but they both did such an amazing job at bringing the characters Woody and I wrote to life and I couldn't imagine anybody else playing Jules Bahcon or our Mysterious stranger. They both do an incredible job throughout the entire series and I think it's so great watching them play off the already established characters in our little universe.
And once again, a big thanks to all the various members of DarkTriforceFilms who came out to help, Charles played multiple roles throughout the series as well as helping out a ton with the behind the scenes work, whether that was running sound, pitching ideas for shots, or making a lot of the props that we use throughout the series (which will be more evident in the following episodes, there's one in Episode 2 that I still think is so funny, and got a good laugh at the premiere!)
Alexis was there at almost every shoot, and was so helpful at picking up whatever job needed to be done, when we needed someone for camera or to supervise the script as we ran through everybody's lines, and of course to play all the various roles we needed filled out just like always.
Kip was another great addition to the crew, going from what originally was just going to be one small cameo to playing multiple characters (including a very special vengeance filled one) and learning how to run sound or helping with anything else we needed.
In addition to them of course every other main cast member hopped around just as much as those who were more crew oriented, and of course just did outstanding jobs with their roles - easily getting back into character and it's just so much fun watching them play these characters in new ways with their new status quo's in Bacon. Emily of course had her first appearance in this first episode, but I won't say too much about John with fear of Woody strangling me over spoilers. But hey, he was in the trailer! And I could watch Julio play Governor Brekvist for hours and it would never get old. I was so excited when they agreed to be apart of the project and they've made Brekvist one of my favorite Buddy Cops characters just with their performance alone. We mention it all the time behind the scenes, but Julio came up with the accent for Brekvist unprompted, they showed up on set during Buddy Cops 3 and pulled it out and we were like "this is perfect!".
Just to finish up these little thanks that I think I'm doing for the second time (but the last Report was a bit ago so I can allow myself) I want to thank everyone else who had the littlest parts in the project like Carlota, Kaitlyn, Jay, Sarah, Sammie, and anybody else that I'm currently forgetting. And the biggest thanks and biggest credit to Mr. Woody Hamilton for spearheading this grand project! Woody had been working on a Buddy Cops spinoff since the end of Buddy Cops 3, and watching it slowly evolve into the final project has honestly been incredibly cool and inspiring. Taking up the sole role of Director as opposed to us being Co-Directors like normal due to my schedule, Woody did an incredible job being the glue to making this huge project work. We had our moments of head clashing but honestly, I think he did a great job and it'll be sad not having him up here in New York to work on projects as frequently as before now. Either way, I'm honored to get to work on all of these things with him (despite the fact I don't let him know - so Woody if you're reading this, earmuffs, okay?)

So, Bacon is officially wrapped up and coming out - what's next for DarkTriforceFilms now? Bacon still has 4 more episodes to come out and those will be releasing every Sunday for the next few weeks, so expect Episode 2 on 10/23, Episode 3 on 10/30, Episode 4 on 11/6, and the finale will be out on 11/13. This hopefully won't be the only content that'll be coming to the channel during the fall however - if you look back at the old editions of The Report, you know we have multiple videos we filmed over the summer that took a backseat as we started production on Bacon, and hopefully HOPEFULLY those will be coming out soon now that I have the time to edit anything else - however, right at the tail end of editing Bacon, the hard drive that I use and keep everything on went the way of Bacon's wife (it died), and I've been trying some data recovery methods but as of right now it's looking like a lot of DarkTriforceFilms content was unfortunately lost. For these videos however, I should hopefully still have all of the footage for the videos on the SD card they were filmed on, along with the audio that was recorded separately should still be on an SD card that Woody has. So right now it's uncertain but should everything go according to plan, these videos should still exist no matter what! GOD I HOPE SO!
Along with that we have one or two DT Life's to edit (one of which features the world famous TYMOSO in person!), along with the Behind The Scenes for Bacon, and some other bits and pieces we can pull together for something. It's nice to have content ready and be uploading regularly again and I really hope that these videos aren't lost so our pool doesn't drop down.

That's about all there is to cover in this edition of The DarkTriforceReport, so let's look forward to the fall season of DarkTriforceFilms content! Most of the images in today's Report are all stills from The first episode of BACON, so if you want to know more, head on over to the YouTube channel and get caught up (it'll hopefully be up here on the website soon as well!) The last photo seen above is the thumbnail to the official trailer, so make sure to check that out as well as Woody's teaser trailer on his channel.
And in some DarkTriforceFilms adjacent news, keeping in theme with fall content, Tales From Summer Camp is having a show on November 3rd at Sheeptown! If you're interested, check out Tales From Summer Camp on instagram for more information! Nothing's set in stone just yet, but hopefully there'll be a video posted somewhere in the vein of the one from our Troy Speakeasy set.
Hopefully now that we aren't heads down anymore, The DarkTriforceReport here will become a bit more frequent, maybe even weekly again! Not that anybody reads these, but you gotta fake it 'til you make it, you know? And you know what - if you are reading this and made it all the way down here, leave a comment/reply to this (by clicking the "comments" button right at the top of this article and I'll send you a free DarkTriforceFilms T-shirt*.
But, until then, this is Logan, signing off!
